In the store: Store the Papaya before sale preferably in a cool and dry place at 10 to 13 degrees Celsius.
At home: Store unripe Papaya Formosa at room temperature until the skin turns yellow-green. Once the fruit is ripe, you can store it in the refrigerator for a few days. For longer shelf life, you can freeze the flesh.

Cut the papaya like a melon; halve the fruit lengthwise and remove the black seeds. Slice the papaya into wedges and peel the skin off the flesh. The flesh is delicious to eat as is, but also works great in a fruit salad.
